Hello all,

We apologise if you have been having issues for a while regarding this, and come to think of it now, some of our smaller 30 second outages may be explained by this. Having looked over status graphs, we have noticed the proxy server spent 5% of Saturday last week unreachable by MineCraft, yet we have only been made aware of this as our uptime monitors failed to notify us.

We have brought the network back online, and since the way we have done this has been successful, we are lead to believe this was due to an issue with IPTables, which we use to block direct connections to our backend (MineCraft) servers from everywhere except specified IPs (for example, our web server). Having looked over our IPTables configuration, I discovered there was a rule dropping all connections to the BungeeCord proxy, which has now been removed. If this was what was causing issues, they should no longer occur, however what puzzles me is that any IPTables rules there have existed for over 2 and a half months, and why they haven't caused majour outages sooner is something we are still looking into.

With this said, we are looking at improving our uptime monitoring to give us warning of outages, as it was down to manual checks that lead us to discover the servers were down, and we are also undergoing a full system checkup to ensure everything is configured correctly in order to prevent future issues.

Happy playing now you are able to connect laugh
