Coming Soon: [on a clear april]
This site shall be focused on April from Everworld. It shall not be a huge site; rather, a mini-shrine to my favorite character. It will also feature Rhi Marzano's rather bizarre fanfiction, an indepth profile on April, and a section on the different guys after her. It will be completed probably much sooner than Vaguely Alive, but only if the fanfiction gets done ^_^. Note about layout: to scroll, use the arrows. These pictures are from Revolutionary Girl Utena, an absolutely fabulous anime about a well-liked, strong-willed girl.
I know I'm not a quick worker, but I think you should really enjoy this when it's done.

Everworld? What do you mean, what is Everworld?
Well, good question.
The easy answer? A book series by K.A. Applegate.
But you didn't come here to get that.
Everworld involves Senna, who drags four kids to a world where all those mythical gods we are forced to study now have retreated to. A place where those mythical gods aren't myths, but real people who are worshiped. Senda, the portal, brings along those aforementioned four kids- her "boyfriend"/champion David, her geek Jalil, her ex/bigoted racist Christopher, and her sister April.
April O'Brien: The basic facts. Stuff you might remember, stuff you might not. She's a junior in high school, takes World Civics. Physically? She's "just short enough." She has Auburn colored hair. She's Irish American, and we're assuming she's Catholic (she goes to Confession with a priest, knows a bit of Latin, is against premarital sex). She once dated a guy named Mario, which evoked images for all of us of a bushy side-burned plumber. Her closest friends are Magdalene (called Magda for short) and Alison. Other buds include Elspeth, Jennifer, Tyra, Becka, and 'Suela. She's an actress- roles include Ophelia in Hamlet, Mimi in RENT, and Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Her Everworld cd collection consisted of Alanis Morrisette (angsty), Lilith Fair (feminist), RENT (musical), Bach b-minor (classical). She has quite a range of musical tastes. She also knows Stormy Weather, a good song my friend Bethy sang as a solo last year. She does not take advil in even doses. April, not Bethy. There were 57 advil at the start of Everworld out of 100 pill bottle. She uses tampons, not pads.
All gleaned from 1-8 Everworld.
Goodness, I'm picky.
But we've really got to get into April, the person. April is this amazing mixture of my friend Mandy and I.
April: side one. Moral values. She's a Catholic girl, or it's implied that she is. Raised from the cradle on the faith, it's present in some form in whatever she does. Everworld is hard for her to accept, because all those Gods we're taught to not believe in or even acknowledge exist, suddenly she has to face. She's in a place where people don't exactly care that she wants to save herself for marriage. Me.
April: side two. Is she shallow? No. Some people deem her so and dislike her but I do not. She is sometimes flighty, but that's part of her charm. You know her for an hour, you feel like you've known her forever. It's not because she doesn't have enough depth. It's because she's so open and friendly that you instantly feel like you could tell her anything. Mandy.
April: Side three. Art. She does have issues, you know. It's not like she's perpetually happy, but she does shunt some feelings off to the side. She deals with things by singing and acting. These help her incredibly. Mandy and Me.
And the most important aspect of April- like me, Mandy, and probably every "normal" girl, she always feels better after blowing money on herself.
Candidate 1: David Levin
For some odd reason, I am quite supportive of an April/David pairing. David, insecure in his masculinity, obsessed with April's half sister, and yet even in the beginning he slightly puts April on a different level than the others. He defends her right to not sacrifice to a false god, worries about her, you know, just concerns and such that he wouldn't do for the guys. As for April, it's obvious that she's at least physically attracted to him- note book 3. If, and a highly improbably if, they get together, they would complement each other nicely. See Home for Dinner when it's done for the totality of my obsession.
Candidate 2: Jalil Sherman
Jalil seems to be the more favored candidate among everyone else. Jalil is intelligent. A lot of problems with being smart is being exposed to so much science that religion seems fake. Anything on faith is simply an unsturdy theory at that point. However, there were a few gelling scenes between the two in the beginning, causing some to jump to strange conclusions. I don't like the pairing between April and Jalil simply because he's such a scientist and she's so religious. Not that the two can't coexist, but it becomes difficult.
Candidate 3: Christopher Hitchcock
See, no one really liked Christopher when EW started. He was a giant bigot, which in my book qualifies him as someone who does not belong in the dating pool. April and he do the most outright flirting, but they probably would not date. He is rather horny, though, and if April was into empty physical relationships, they'd be together.
Most likely Winner: None
I can't see April forming a permanant attachment this early in the series- not like an R/T thing simply because, on a regular basis, she's the only female character. If they pair her off, then, well, to make it interesting, the other two would have to be gay. You know.
